After a successful launch in Nigeria, Fashions Finest is set for its 16th season during London Fashion Week.
Ujjwala Bhadu is an artist and fashion designer born and raised in Jodhpur, India. Her interest in design stems from her love for colour, textures and tactility. Her childhood was surrounded by the colorful local textiles of her hometown. Her constant muse, her mother, instilled in her a deep appreciation for the local crafts of her people. Her design principles value the craft of creating by hand and working with touch-encouraging materials. Her approach to design has also been shaped by her move to Parsons in New York City. Studying the principles of modernism and finding a connection between home and here through design has been a very enriching experience for her work.
As a recent graduate of Parsons the New School for Design, in the Fashion Design program, Ujjwala Bhadu has not only acquired the work ethos of New York City but more importantly the critical thinking skills that help her push her ideas across design disciplines. Her projects have always contained elements of her indian heritage, all of which led to her final collection that represented a balance between personal and acquired cultures. Internships at Theory, Oscar de la Renta and Bibhu Mohapatra consolidated her collaborative and teamwork skills. During her final year at Parsons, Ujjwala was nominated for multiple competitions like Hugo Boss Scholarship and CFDA Fashion Future Showcase.
The Mena Odi Collections is a womenswear brand established by London born designer, Jessica Odoi, in 2016.
Jessica studied in Kent Institute of Art and Design (K.I.A.D) and Creapole school of design in Paris. She successfully graduated from K.I.A.D and although Jessica specialised in womenswear, she produced a Mr Men inspired menswear final collection which featured in London's Graduate Fashion Week. Continuing from that success, Jessica showcased further menswear collections. Twice at London's Alternative Fashion week and the BME's Fashion show, an innovative fashion event held at Edgware Road's Cockpit Theatre, where her Baroque inspired collection received high commendation.
In 2016, Jessica reverted to her specialism in women's clothing and decided to launch 'The Mena Odoi Collections.' Her new label believes in providing a ‘feel good, look good’ style to all women comprises of classic, stylish, sophisticated and sensual designs. The choice of colour and love of unique textured fabric determines and dictates the direction of this brand. Jessica believes it is a significant part to the design process and contributes to her inspiration. Both recent collections explore the use of colour and texture but maintains its signature look, the classic silhouette.
Ziaz is a Pune based fashion label by the popular designer Zia Yusuf with focus on elegance and simplicity.
As a designer, Zia creates modest clothing with an edge and aims at creating bespoke & on trend statement pieces with each collection. She merges the runway fashion to chic and wearable clothing to create modish one-offs. Each piece created by the label is unique and carefully handcrafted to perfection.
She has a beautiful studio in Pune where she creates her designs and gives her personal touch to every single piece. With each piece she aims to bring out the best in her clients and make them a better version of themselves. Her exhibitions in Mumbai & Dubai, enjoys a large following.
Fashion comes naturally to Zia. She is not formally trained but it’s a part of her very being, like she says, “It’s all in her head.”
Running her own fashion business for the last 25 years has honed her skills and her work is now an effortless extension of her personality. She is passionate about making modest clothing a force to reckon with in the fashion world. Fashion is simply what she does best, and her work speaks for itself.

The biggest event in Portuguese fashion, Moda Lisboa, took place from 8 - 12 March 2017 at the newly renovated Pavilhão Carlos Lopes. This year, the fashion week celebrated its 50th edition and it won't be an exaggeration to say that it was better than ever before.
From all-black looks at Aleksandar Protic to futuristic plastic details at David Ferreira and Imauve, Autumn/Winter 2018-19 season will be highly inspiring, bold, and creative. Let's have a look at some of the most memorable fashion trends presented at the event!
1. New Romantic

Pastels (often combined with darker colours), soft lines, white blouses, slip dresses, plush velvet, satin, lace up, puff sleeves, ruffles, and moody florals – that's New Romantics trend in a nutshell.
According to Fashion Snoops, "the New Romantic woman believes in leveraging the past to bring us closer to the future". Key accessories include pearl earrings, fishnet stockings, statement ring set, embellished mini bag, optical cat eye, and updated Mary Janes.
This fashion trend (shown mainly through clothes, not accessories) was present in many collections for Autumn/Winter 2018-19 including Duarte, Filipe Faísca, Carolina Machado, and Ricardo Preto.
2. Plastic Dreams

"The most out-there trend of 2018 is transparency, or plastic to be particular", says The Guardian and we couldn't agree more.
From transparent boots at Imauve to ultra-bold tops at Luís Carvalho and see-through coats at David Ferreira, this futuristic trend seemed to be quite popular with Portuguese designers.
3. Statement (faux) Fur

From fur trims, sleeves, collars, tippets, scarves and stoles, to statement jackets and coats – all (faux) fur lovers will be able to choose something for themselves next season.
Our favourite looks included elegant black fur details at David Ferreira, stylish white stoles at Imauve, and feminine coats at Luís Carvalho.
4. Black Is The New Black

Classic black was seen in many Autumn/Winter 2018-19 collections including Aleksandar Protic who presented all-black looks, Federico Cina (black mixed with bright red), Isidro Paiva (black combined with white or brown), Carolina Machado (thigh high boots and black accessories), and David Ferreira (black fishnets and voluminous sleeves).
Eye-catching colour combinations such as black with golden beige and apricot orange could be seen at Dino Alves show. The versatile Autumn/Winter collection featured a lot of hats and colourful sunglasses as well.
5. Kaleidoscope Of Colours

Some designers went in a totally opposite direction and presented bold colourful looks featuring colours traditionally associated with spring such as pink, bright red or yellow.
While in many of those collections colour was taking centre stage, some of them were also enriched with the use of unique prints and patterns (Awaytomars, Kolovrat).
If you are not sure how to wear this trend, there is only one rule that applies: use your imagination and mix various colours and patterns together. The brighter, the better!
HYPE., the independent street label and international fashion retailer, has secured a major five-year services agreement with Samsung C&T UK (“Samsung”) which will see the multinational conglomerate provide the design-led brand with all back office and logistics operations from the end of March 2018.

Caroline Perino is a London-based fashion designer. With a passion for drawing since she was 3 years old, she started drawing clothes because of all the details she could put in one outfit. That lead her to eventually finding herself in Fashion.
Peter Twiss established his eponymous label in 2009 and has been steadily building and refining the brand to become a truly sustainable business.
Niki Moyo is a London based Premium Womenswear Fashion Brand, helping women gain confidence in themselves and their bodies by expressing their unique individuality in unique, quality styles without any creative and sizing limitations.
Niki Moyo believes true beauty is on the inside and a woman should proudly celebrate that beauty by wearing the best styles that reveal and showcase her unique and true nature.
Niki Moyo is inspired by Nature, which is the epitome of beauty. In other words, Mother Nature is what sparks the creativity and designs that mirrors the inner beauty of a woman.
Born in Zimbabwe, she initially showed a flair for fashion and design when helping to create new outfits for her dolls helped by her mother, who was a great lover and supporter of the regional Arts and Craft movement at the time.
As a teenager, making her own clothes was a natural progression, and her design flair was confirmed when she raced ahead of other pupils at school when studying craftwork and Fashion and Fabrics.
Deconstructing clothes to establish patterns and understand the various cuts for garments, swiftly confirmed a passion for clothes and fashion, heavily influenced by the culture of the region, combined with the exciting prospect of new global fashion trends.
This drive and motivation led to her taking a number of supplementary roles, helping her to formalise her industry education, and leading to initially securing a professional National Certificate in Clothing Technology. This led to a place at the National School of Art & Design, where she graduated from a National Diploma In Fashion Design and authored her first formal “Portfolio”.
The recognition of this work by the school’s experts was such, it led to her winning one of the highly sort after “Fashion Design Seats” at the school, where she went onto secure an internship at the respected Edgars Group, the regional clothing market leader, who supply quality adult and children’s merchandise across Zimbabwe.
Fully leveraging the relationships built at Edgars, she was offered a permanent role with them, initially as a Fashion Designer, and gaining promotion to Product Coordinator on the back of the commercial success delivered for the brand and its sub-brands.
Niki Moyo’s proven and consistent excellence has led into her winning multi awards in her Fashion career.
