Christmas is on the horizon and it won’t be long until the festivities are in full swing, from enjoying a mulled wine or two at a festive market to whizzing around an ice rink.

With the previous Christmas tainted by the pandemic and lockdown restrictions, many of us are hoping for a bigger and better celebration in 2021.

If you're looking to surprise your partner this Christmas, read on for luxury gift inspiration.

A Surprise Getaway

Travel restrictions are easing and what better way to take advantage of them than by booking a surprise Christmas trip for you and your partner. If you’re not a couple to stay at home for Christmas Day, spending the 25th of December in another country can allow you to experience different traditions.

Head to Lapland in Finland for a white Christmas and partake in reindeer rides through the snow or a more adventurous dog sledding experience. If sun is what you're after, Tenerife can tick that box, or head further afield for a touch of paradise in the Maldives.

If you would rather spend Christmas with family, why not whisk your partner off for a romantic New Year instead?

The Experience Day

Surprise your partner with a day they won’t forget. An experience day for two will enable you to enjoy the gift together. If you're an adventurous couple, you could take to the skies in a hot air balloon ride complete with prosecco. If you prefer to keep your feet on the ground, a relaxing spa day complete with treatments could be for you.

A Christmas Proposal

Perhaps you're planning the perfect proposal, with Christmas being a time that is full of magic. With data from Bridebook showing that December is regularly the most popular month for engagements, you won’t be alone.

Planning a proposal can be daunting, however, with pressure to achieve the perfect moment. New data from the high street jewellers F. Hinds reveals the average expected price of a proposal (including the engagement ring) is £2,348, and if your partner is a millennial, they have higher expectations with the average expected cost being £4,102.

The survey also showed that 74% of Brits would be put off if their partner proposed in public and 32% would like to be proposed to while on a picturesque getaway.

Understanding what you and your partner enjoy the most will help you plan a festive proposal, whether it’s tied in with a surprise getaway or while enjoying a festive meal at home.

Whatever you choose to surprise your partner with this Christmas, be sure to enjoy the moment together.
