About The Designer, Johan Ku

Johan Ku was born in Taipei in 1979; he moved his first steps in graphic design when he was 17 to land in fashion design later. Johan has established his design studio in 2005 after he had completed a Master's course in fashion and textile. While studying for his master's in fashion at Central Saint Martins, his "Emotional Sculpture" collection won Gen Art's Design Vision Avant Garde award in New York in December 2009, confirming the qualities, skills and vision of this artist.

About the collection

His signature design is sculpture-like silhouettes with unique textiles and extreme chunky knitwear. Johan Ku has firmly established himself within the knitwear industry through his hand-knitted, dynamic capsule collection “Emotional Sculpture”. Inspired by geometric abstraction, the Autumn/Winter 2022 collection blends geometric abstract graphics with Johan Ku's signature knits into artistic apparel.
