"Kaftan is a Colombian brand devoted to design urban apparel to men and women established in Bogotá in 2001. The name of the brand comes from the Ottoman robe named "caftan". The commitment with design has brought Kaftan to work over eleven years towards a product based on the aesthetics and functionality. Their creativity and talent has made stand out the brand as one of the best independent proposals of the country, participating in some national and international shows and fairs. Concepts as: vanguard, art, as well as awareness for the environment or fair trade are the motivation and the strength of the company. Kaftan has consolidated over the years as a way of living for their creators. The plastic arts background of the creative director and the experience in fashion design of the workshop manager has merged offering their clients new and alternative clothing. At the moment Kaftan just sells their designs in Colombia and Chile, but their goal is to break down the walls and offer their garments worldwide. Kaftan is also very involved in music. They have been wearing some Colombian bands such as Superlitio or Diana Pereira from Alerta Kamarada, and nowadays Spanish musicians, SN2, have the support of Kaftan in starting their career."
